Uppgifter: Embracer-ägda Aspyr tvingas pausa produktion av Star Wars-remake

Embracer-ägda Aspyr Medias tilltänkta remake av klassiska spelet Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic har lagts på is på obestämd tid. Tilltaget sker efter att två chefer nyligen avskedats, rapporterar spelsajten Kotaku med hänvisning till Bloomberg News.
Enligt uppgifter ska för mycket tid och pengar ha lagts ned på spelets demo, vilket gjort att projektets tilltänkta plan inte längre blev hållbar att genomföra.
Samtidigt ska ledande personer inom Aspyr, enligt Bloomberg News, ha hållit flera möten under juli där de diskuterade spelets framtid och förklarade för de anställda att företaget skulle behöva söka efter fler kontraktsarbetare för att kunna fortsätta.
Tidigare i maj meddelade Aspyrs moderbolag Saber Interactive att man går in och stöttar produktionen.
“Vi är helt övertygade om att spelet kommer bli fantastiskt, men det är en massiv, massiv produktion och stora produkter kräver ansträngning och mycket tid för att bli bra”, sade Sabers vd Matthew Karch då.
Inga uppgifter om när produktionen kan komma sätta igång igen anges.

Kovin on taas vakuuttavaa menoa Redeylla kun analyytikot päivätreidaa. Odotan jo innolla ilmoitusta siitä miten Embracer ylitti tai alitti RedEyen ennusteet, jotka kerrotaan vasta tulosjulkistuksen jälkeen.
Q1 osari julkaistaan muutaman viikon päästä 18.8. Luvut ensimmäistä kertaa IFRS standardin mukaisia, joten RedEyen analyytikoille avautuu varmasti mahdollisuus tehdä lisää lyhyitä LONG treidejä.

Dark Horse Entertainment has extended its collaboration with Neftlix over several years, Variety and The Wrap report, among others. The streaming giant owns Dark Horse’s intellectual property in film, and the parties have recently announced several projects, including the feature film Bang!.
The announcement comes at the same time as the third season of Netflix’s title The Umbrella Academy reached the streaming company’s top ten list in television. The series is based on the Dark Horse magazine series of the same name.
In the new movie Bang!, which is also based on a comic book, the actor Idris Elba plays the main role. Elba is known, among other things, from the TV series The Wire.
Embracer acquired Dark Horse at the end of 2021. The company had a turnover of approximately SEK 900 million and an EBIT of approximately SEK 130 million last year.

Muutos on kyllä ihan tarpeellinen, sillä kukaan ei tunnu tietävän miten Koch tulisi lausua, tästä kuullut useita variaatioita, joista osa kuulostaa kolajuomalta, osa miehen sukuelimeltä ja loput siltä, että puhujan olisi tarpeen ostaa joku vokaali tai ainakin mynthoneita.

Anyways, takaisin aiheeseen. Viime viikolla sekä Microsoft, Nintendo että Sony julkaisivat kvartaalituloksensa. Microsoftilla ja Sonylla oli pelipuolen tulot laskussa vs 2021, Nintendolla taas koko konsernin tulos. Chippipula edelleen osasyynä, mutta ei lähitulevaisuus kovin härkämäiseltä näytä pelialalle eikä välttämättä varsinkaan Embracerilla, joka on tehnyt paljon hankintoja pelisyklin huipulla.

For Q1, we expect Net sales to reach SEK 7,042m, up 105%, supported by M&A and FX. We estimate organic growth of 2% due to tough comparisons from last year’s release of Biomutant. Due to a slight change in the mix (higher share of Asmodee), we forecast the Operational EBIT margin to reach 20.5% (37.2) and deliver an Operational EBIT of SEK 1,442m (1,277).
This will be the first quarter where Embracer report in line with IFRS and will also change its reporting into four segments, PC/Console games, mobile games, tabletop games, and EES.

Todellinen moniprojektimalli mahdollistaa tasaisesti kasvavan liikevaihdon pitäen riskit minimissä. Pankkia ei tällä kertaa räjäytetty, mutta THQNordic tarjoilee jokaiselle jotakin.
Nickelodeon fanit ja RTS naksujen ystävät ainakin tyytyväisiä julkistuksiin. Suurin osa projekteista pidettiin vielä piilossa, eikä AAA julkistuksia nähty, mutta muutoin ihan jepa AA-showcase .
