Teksti on raakaa, eikä sovi herkille.

Russians are destroying forests, rivers, and steppes. Thousands of flora and fauna species are endangered.
The most extensive examples of Russian crimes against nature:
The destruction of the Kakhovka Dam by Russian forces in June 2023 unleashed an estimated 18 cubic kilometres of water, flooding over 80 settlements and displacing more than 40,000 people.
The flood devastated the Dnipro River’s ecosystem, killing an estimated 95% of fish in the affected areas, with millions of fish carcasses polluting the waters. Over 55,000 hectares of farmland were submerged, threatening Ukraine’s agricultural output. Toxic pollutants from at least 150 industrial facilities spilt into the floodwaters, contaminating the Dnipro River and the Black Sea.
Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve, one of Europe’s oldest and largest protected steppe ecosystems, has suffered severe damage due to the Russian invasion.
Endangered species like Przewalski’s horses, European bison, and Saiga antelope face grave risk, with reports of increased poaching and habitat destruction
The steppe’s delicate ecosystem, home to over 500 plant species and 3,000 animal species, has been destabilized by military movement and shelling.
The future of this UNESCO site is uncertain, and restoring the damage could take decades.
The Serebryansky Forest, a critical natural reserve near Izyum in Kharkiv Oblast, has been devastated by Russian shelling during the invasion
Over 80% of the forest’s 25,000 hectares have been severely damaged, with large sections burned by artillery-induced fires. The once-thriving ecosystem, home to rare species of birds, mammals, and plants, has been shattered, with countless animals killed or displaced. Unexploded ordnance now litters the area, making recovery and reforestation efforts perilous. The destruction of this vital woodland represents a significant environmental loss for Ukraine, with recovery likely to take decades.
The Kreminna Forests in Luhansk Oblast, covering around 50,000 hectares, have been severely impacted by Russian military activities.
Over 40% of the forest area has been destroyed due to intense shelling and fires caused by military operations. These actions have led to widespread habitat loss and have severely disrupted the local ecosystem. Endangered species such as the European lynx and the red deer have been critically affected, with their populations declining due to the destruction of their natural habitat and increased disturbances. Once rich with biodiversity, the forests now face a prolonged recovery period as efforts to restore this vital habitat continue.
The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, spanning about 2,600 square kilometres, has suffered severe damage due to Russian military activities.
Chernobyl Exclusion Zone Was a Wildlife Haven—Before Russia Attacked
Approximately 25% of the zone’s fragile environment has been disrupted, with military trenches dug into its forests, causing significant soil erosion and further contamination. Endangered species such as the European bison and Przewalski’s horse face increased habitat destruction and pollution threats. Additionally, the zone’s diverse flora and fauna have been disturbed, complicating conservation and recovery efforts in this already sensitive region.
The ongoing war has heavily impacted Svyati Hory National Nature Park, located in Donetsk Oblast.
Approximately 70% of the park’s 43,000 hectares have suffered from artillery shelling and military operations. The park’s diverse ecosystems, including dense forests and river valleys, have been ravaged by fires and pollution. Endangered species such as the European lynx and the lesser spotted eagle face critical threats, with habitat destruction and contamination severely affecting their populations. The park’s unique river ecosystems have also been polluted, further endangering aquatic species.
Kinburn Spit, a unique coastal area in Mykolaiv Oblast, has endured significant damage due to Russian military activities.
Covering approximately 260 square kilometres, this vital natural area has seen extensive destruction from shelling and military manoeuvres. Over 50% of the spit’s habitat, including its crucial sand dunes and wetlands, has been severely affected. The area is home to endangered species such as the European roller and the red-breasted goose, both of which have suffered from habitat loss and increased pollution. The Russian invasion has also led to disturbances in the region’s marine and bird populations.
The war severely impacts the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Although relatively distant from the front lines, the reserve’s 2,200 square kilometres of wetlands, forests, and river channels have suffered from increased pollution and disturbances. Russian military activities in the region have led to contamination of waterways, affecting the reserve’s delicate ecosystems. Endangered species such as the Dalmatian pelican and the European mink face heightened risks due to habitat disruption and pollution. The reserve’s biodiversity, including over 300 bird species and numerous fish, has been threatened, and the ecological balance is at risk.
Yelanets Steppe Nature Reserve, situated in Mykolaiv Oblast, has faced devastating damage due to the conflict.
Around 60% of its 30,000 hectares of pristine steppe have been compromised by Russian military activities and fires. The reserve, known for its unique grassland ecosystems, is home to endangered species like the steppe eagle and the European ground squirrel. The intense fires and disturbances have destroyed critical habitats, killed numerous animals, and degraded soil.
Dzharylhach Island, a vital natural reserve in the Black Sea, has faced severe damage due to Russian military activities.
The island, spanning roughly 27 square kilometers, has been heavily impacted by shelling and military operations. Over 40% of its unique ecosystems have been affected, including sandy beaches, coastal dunes, and salt marshes. This critical habitat supports endangered species such as the wild horse and the Black Sea dolphin, which are now at heightened risk due to habitat disruption and pollution.
Russian military activities in the Black Sea have severely harmed dolphin populations, including endangered species such as the Black Sea bottlenose dolphin and the common dolphin.
En epäile lainkaan ettei tuota olisi pohdittu. Jos Venäjä käyttää Ukrainaa vastaan taktista tai järeämpää ydinasetta, on mielestäni suhteellisen varmaa että lähes kaikki länsimaat rakentavat omia hyvin pikaisella aikataululla. Tuolloin maailmanpoliittinen tilanne muuttuisi aika ennakoimattomalla tavalla.
Ukraine can start the production of its own nuclear weapons if the West and NATO do not fulfill their obligations to us, — former Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Oleg Rybachuk.
We can technically and realistically start production, somewhat reminiscent of Israel, which said that they do not have nuclear weapons, but if necessary, we will launch an appropriate nuclear attack on the aggressors.

Sept 9 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration has sent Congress a classified report on its strategy for the war in Ukraine, three sources said on Monday, months after a June deadline mandated in a multibillion-dollar spending bill lawmakers passed in April.

Kenties samalla Scholz saisi sovitettua natsi-Saksan synnit Venäjän suuntaan?
Ihan samalla tavalla homma toimii molemmissa tapauksissa.
Mitä tulee vertaukseen Ukrainaan, niin tilanne on täysin eri. Ukrainalla ei ole optiota lopettaa sotaa. Venäjällä on optio lopettaa sota.
