Infinera gains after HSR waiting period for Nokia sale expires

Infinera (NASDAQ:INFN) rose 2.5% in premarket trading after the HSR waiting period for the Justice Department’s review of its planned sale to Nokia (NOK) expired.
The waiting period expired on at 11:59 pm on Friday, according to an 8-K filing on Monday. Infinera and Nokia continue to expect the deal to close in the first half of 2025.
The waiting period expiration comes after Nokia (NOK) last month pulled its HSR notification for its planned $2.3 billion acquisition of Infinera and refiled it to give the DOJ more time to review the deal.
Nokia (NOK) agreed in late June to acquire Infinera (INFN) for $2.3B to strengthen its optical networking position, particularly in North America.
