Hi Tom,
Nice to hear your thoughts about this.
I understand the connection between calendar and fundamentals. My first thought was that if you could handle them separately, so that business reviews will only have a date but no fundamentals API. This will make it possible to cover the calendar and not tight you to dig into the numbers.
We are of course willing to adjust our side so that it will fit this logic Just tell us how you will include them, and we will do our magic
Just to point out: " but I do not agree totally because the reviews usually lack other balance sheet fields that are valuable to investors. Not all fields are available, so the investors cannot make a sufficient valuation as for the H1/H2 reports. To evaluate a company, you need more information than just sales and EBIT, as is the case for some of the companies that report business reviews, unfortunately. "
In OMX Helsinki business reviews are very comprehensive. if you compare Talenom business review and annual report, they actually offer the same data:
But yes you are correct, for example the company Nixu only gives sales numbers, and no other data in business reviews.
So to sum this. We really wish dates of business reviews can be included to the calendar API but the fundamental numbers no need to connect to it. We are ofc willing to adjust our system if you help us a bit with the dates!
Hope we can together make the market place a better place for investors!

Aihe: Re: regard. API and Calendar Events from Millistream
Hi Yu,
There are no simple answers in the business of market data, especially when there is a variety in the reporting quality from each company.
This is usually not a problem, at least in Sweden and remaining Nordic countries, but we are open to evaluate current data distribution.
Have in mind that everything is a weighting between advantages- and disadvantages in the distribution.
I agree with the statement that a business update/review is of value and that the market adjusts according to the review, but I do not agree totally because the reviews usually lack other balance sheet fields that are valuable to investors. Not all fields are available, so the investors cannot make a sufficient valuation as for the H1/H2 reports. To evaluate a company, you need more information than just sales and EBIT, as is the case for some of the companies that report business reviews, unfortunately.
Secondly, adding business reviews at our end requires a sync between calendar > fundamentals . We strive to have a complete data distribution and if the reviews only add a couple of fields, then our fundamentals will have various qualities. There are companies that barely report more than sales and a couple of other fields, making it hard to handle internally. Our solution last year was to categorize these with H1/H2.
Third, adding reviews could potentially raise other questions from our remaining customers that uses H1/H2 fundamentals.
Solution
We can evaluate and see if we can add reviews later on during the year.
It is of high interest if we both could adjust to the new requirements and try to find a solution, due to that no other customer experiences the same issue. I can look up what we can do at our end, and if I am not mistaken, we have different fields that we could categorize these with, but it will need some adjustments probably at your side too. Preferably, if we could collect the data, and you could adjust/build your website, then we could probably solve this.
Our team monitors the Nordic market on a daily basis and getting the dates for the business reviews, is not an issue at all.
Let us know if you have more preferences and I"ll chat with our tech-team and come back to you.
Take care,
Tom
