Tämä korealaisartikkeli herättää mielestäni kysymyksen siitä, jos kerran Samsungin kaupat pienenevät tänä vuonna radikaalisti viime vuodesta ja saavuttavat vuoden 2019 tason vasta ensi vuonna, kuka ottaa markkinaosuutta kun Huaweillakin on melkoista vastatuulta ympäri maailman?
Ericsson varmasti on napsinut kivasti lisäkauppoja, mutta toisaalta Nokian 5G-kauppojen määrä vakuutti q3:lla ja saavutti sen jälkeen 100 5G-kauppaa. joista 35 verkkoa on jo toiminnassa. Eli JOS korealaisartikkelin väite pitää kutinsa, aikalailla lähtötelineisiin on toistaiseksi jäänyt Samsungin 5G-ponnistus Korean ulkopuolella Verizon-kauppa suurimpana poikkeuksena, ja Huawein menettämät kaupat olisivat ilmeisesti pitkälti menossa parivaljakolle Ericsson-Nokia?

Näköjään tänne on referoitu FB-postauksiani, näin hiukan aavistelinkin. Se on tietysti OK, vaikken edelleenkään pidä joidenkin anonyymien heittojen tyylistä, kun ne kohdistuvat henkilöön. On selvää, että tässä foorumissa ei ole tilaa. Alla FB-postaukseen liittyvät tarkennukset:
“…Deutsche Telekom tuli julkisuuteen samasta asiasta…” - tarkoittaa tietysti 5G-kyvykkyyttä, josta mm. Kauppalehti uutisoi 7.2.2020. Olisi pitänyt tietysti kirjoittaa, että “Kauppalehti kertoi Reutersin saaneen käsiinsä, jne.”

Tämä on mielestäni anonyymiksi foorumiksi hämmästyttävän asiallinen eivätkä eräät Kauppalehden keskustelupalstojen hörhöt pahemmin ole tänne eksyneet häiriköimään. Itse en ota kantaa nyt kyseessä olevaan asiaan, mutta totean, että jos on virhe tai väärinkäsitys, niin sehän on syytä oikoa/selventää menemättä henkilökohtaisuuksiin. Errare humanum est.

Nyt Samsungin tulevien 5 vuoden strategiassa panostetaan aggressiivisesti markkinaosuuden kasvattamiseen 5G laitteissa, erityisesti USA:ssa ja Euroopassa.
Selkeästi ja ponnekkaasti sanottu, markkinaosuus todennäköisesti nousee.
Toivottavasti hinnat on terveellä tasolla.

Huawein tilanne Isossa-Britanniassa kiristyy entisestään. Maan parlamentin puolustuskomitea tuo esille vaihtoehdon kiristää maan Huawei-bänniä jo sovitusta.
Uudet löydöt perustuvat mm. akateemikoiden, kyberturvallisuuden asiantuntijoiden ja alan teollisuuden tomijoiden kuulemisiin. Esiin on nostettu mm. Kiinan valtion yli 63 mrd euron tuet, minkä avulla laitteita on myyty “naurettavan halvalla”.
MPs say the government may need to bring forward a deadline set for the Chinese firm’s 5G kit to be removed from the UK’s mobile networks.
Its report cites a venture capitalist who claimed the Chinese government “had financed the growth of Huawei with some $75bn [£57bn] over the past three years”, which he said had allowed it to sell its hardware at a “ridiculously low price point”.

Ei niitä ole myyty naurettavan halvalla. Jos ajatellaan verkossa liikkuvan tiedon määrää pelkästään yrityssektorilla, kuinka paljon arkaluonteista tietoa liikkuu esimerkiksi ainoastaan tuotekehityksestä ja se on saatavilla suurelta osin Kiinan käyttöön tuon 63 miljardin satsauksella, niin se on erittäin kannattava investointi.

Alhasempia huippuja, mutta korkeempia pohjia. Kerran päästiin jo tuon EMA 100 päälle, mutta Trump iskikin takaisin. Olisi kiva päästä vielä tämän ja huomisen aikana kunnolla ulos tuosta kolmiosta, niin päästäisiin ehkä muodostamaan uutta linjaa ylöspäin.

Silmiin osui myös kommentti koskien Huawein ja erityisesti Korealaisten yhtiöiden (Samsung, LG) “patentteja”.
Telecoms.com Scott Bicheno wrote: “Around half of Huawei’s 5G patent applications seem to have been made in China , and they account for half of all such applications made in China. While there’s nothing intrinsically wrong with that, it’s worth noting that Samsung and LG, which are in the top three 5G patent applicants alongside Qualcomm, have hardly filed any applications in Korea. It’s almost as if the barrier to entry for patent filing in China is lower.”

ORANGE VENTURE IN BELGIUM TO REPLACE HUAWEI MOBILE GEAR WITH NOKIA KIT - SOURCES
STOCKHOLM/PARIS (Reuters) - Telecoms operators Orange Belgium OBEL.BR and Proximus PROX.BR are poised to progressively replace Huawei-made mobile equipment in Belgium and Luxembourg with Nokia gear, two sources close to the matter said.
Orange’s Belgian division and Proximus, which is majority-owned by the Belgian state, face heavy political pressure to shift from China’s Huawei for the next generation of mobile internet, or 5G, following U.S. accusations that Huawei’s gear could be used for spying by Beijing, the sources said.
China vehemently denies the accusations. Orange Belgium and Proximus, which have both partnered with Huawei, signed an agreement last year to share their mobile network.
Orange declined to comment. Proximus did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday evening.

Nyt alkaa vihdoin tippumaan näitä hyötymistapauksia Huawein jäljiltä. Hieno juttu! Pientä osaa otetaan takaisin siitä mikä Nokialle kuuluukin.
Jotenkin nämä Weldonin vanhat möläytykset näyttäytyvät nykyään entistä paremmilta. Näistä jouduttiin aiemmin virallisesti irtisanoutumaan mutta nykyään asioiden eteen jo toimitaan asianmukaisella tavalla.
“We were disadvantaged in the past relative to the practices that the Chinese were allowed to have in terms of funding mechanisms,” Weldon told BBC.
Speaking to BBC, Weldon said: ““Some of it seems to be just sloppiness, honestly, that they haven’t patched things, they haven’t upgraded. But, some of it is real obfuscation, where they make it look like they have the secure version when they don’t.”
In the interview with BBC, Weldon said Nokia’s equipment was “a safer bet” and pointed to a recent from IoT security firm Finite State, which found several cyber-security risks embedded within Huawei enterprise equipment, and concluded Huawei devices “pose a quantifiable high risk to their users.”

NOKIA GAINING MOST FROM HUAWEI ABSENCE IN US, EUROPE: COUNTERPOINT
Though all companies in the sector would benefit from the absence of Huawei in the US and European markets, Nokia should gain more as it was an end-to-end supplier like Huawei, Counterpoint said.
Counterpoint said it was of the view that Nokia looked broadly on track to revive its 5G RAN business in the short term. “Although the loss of the Verizon contract in the US was clearly disappointing, the company has won several RAN contracts since then, including a major contract to replace Huawei at BT,” said Gareth Owen, associate research director at Counterpoint Research.
“Perhaps just as important — and a pointer to the future — is the fact that Nokia has won several strategic non-RAN contracts from a number of high-profile players during the past few months. These include Apple, Baidu, Tencent, Dish Networks and, most recently, Equinix. I expect these type of contract wins to accelerate over the next year or so.”
Counterpoint said it believed that Nokia needed to urgently increase R&D investment, especially in 5G, including sorting out any 5G product performance and quality issues.
“Outside its main Networks division, the company should increase focus and investment in its Nokia Software and Nokia Enterprise divisions to benefit from two major trends: the migration to cloud-native software and the Industry 4.0 automation revolution. This should include acquisitions” said Peter Richardson, vice-president of Research at Counterpoint Research.
“In addition, we think Nokia should focus strongly on developing new 5G service-based businesses based on emerging technologies such as network slicing and edge computing in partnership with key CSP and enterprise partners.”
But Counterpoint added that finding the funds for this investment would not be easy and Nokia may need to dispose of some assets, perhaps its Technologies division, and also consider other funding and strategic options.

This project addresses the challenge of enabling Air Force radars to dynamically share spectrum with 5G cellular services.
The Nokia testbed includes traditional as well as open standards architectures including high-power massive multi-antenna systems.

Ei sovi Samsungin toimintamalliin. Samsung haluaa polkaista kaiken pystyyn omasta takaa hyödyntäen erityisesti kotimaansa osaamista. Toiminta on hyvin pääkonttorivetoista, poislukien muutamat pienemmät pumput kuten taannoinen vajaan 200 työntekijän firma jenkeistä.

Toivottavasti noin! 
Myös Samsung pystyy yllättämään ja ehdottamaan Nokialle sopivaa diiliä, jossa verkkolaitteet siirtyy uuteen yritykseen, josta Nokia omistaa 30 %, tai jotain! ?
Veikkaan, että Etelä-Korean yrityskulttuuri on lähellä suomalaista ja se on hyvin tuttua Pekka Lundmarkille!
Siis, jos jotain uutta Nokian strategisissa linjauksissa ja valinnoissa tapahtuu lähiaikoina, niin Samsung on esimerkiksi Ericssonia parempi ja todennäköisempi toimija - myös kilpailuviranomaisten näkökulmasta.
Etelä-Korean valtio ja pankit ovat tukeneet vahvaa Samsungia vuosikymmeniä - ilmeisesti myös suhteet USA:aan ovat kunnossa.
