BETHESDA, Md. – Lockheed Martin, Nokia, and Verizon today announced the successful integration of Nokia’s industry-leading, military-grade 5G solutions into Lockheed Martin’s 5G.MIL® Hybrid Base Station (HBS). The technology advances new capabilities to integrate commercial 5G connections with military communications systems to provide decisive information for national defense. 5G is playing an expanding role in supporting tactical military missions, seamlessly complementing existing battlefield solutions.

Espoo, Finland – Boost Mobile, the newest U.S. nationwide carrier, has deployed Nokia’s fully cloud-native 5G Voice Core to enable even faster delivery of advanced services, enhanced network automation, and more efficient cloud utilization than its Open RAN cloud-native network could before.

Tänään keulii myös “kaikki” puolustusalan yhtiöt. Ja nyt luultavasti muutama ihminen osaa Nokian yhdistää myös tähän toimialaan, kun juuri saatiin kuulla yhteistyöstä Lockheed Martinin kanssa - myös videotervehdyksen muodossa.
Myös tekninen näkökulma on oiva ajuri tälle päivälle. Uusi kuukausi - heti alkuun nousevan kynttilän “varmistus” ja breakoutin jatkon makua. Ja tosiaan ADR 5,00 USD on hyvin oleellinen ja voi vielä keikauttaa - mutta kerran aiemmin testattu - haettu vauhtia ja nyt yli?

Ja tämän lisäksi MWC on tarjonnyt paljon mielenkiintoista. Kyllähän tuo Nokian ja Infineran yhdistelmä, ja heidän hehkutus toimialan tulevasta kasvusta ja mahdollisuuksista seuraavien vuosien aikana oli hyvin bullish. Ja tämän päälle vielä priva verkoista kauppauutisia ja jne. Nokia nousee ja tähdet ovat nyt kohdillaan - Ericsson tänään +0,5 % - suuri kontrasti.
Olisikohan osakekurssikin saanut siitä energiaa, sen verran vahvaa hehkutus mahdollisuuksista oli…

- The United States and its allies increasingly depend on fast, secure, and advanced communications to access critical information and ensure effective deterrence against threats. 5G.MIL integrations like this strategic relationship with Nokia and Verizon will help ensure data is seamlessly routed throughout the battlespace in ways that make future mission success possible,” said John Clark, senior vice president, Lockheed Martin technology & strategic innovation.
Nokia said the trio will continue pushing for further network integration. The vendor said it will incorporate its 5G technology at Lockheed Martin’s 5G.MIL experimental network site in Orlando, Florida, where Verizon’s technology is already present.
As well as Verizon, Lockheed has several other strategic technology partners, including Microsoft, Intel, Juniper, Radisys, and RedHat.
Outages and scaling problems at Germany’s fourth mobile network are unwelcome publicity for Rakuten and Mavenir.
Unlike his bigger rivals, which use traditional kit vendors such as Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia, Dommermuth has leaned heavily on Japan’s Rakuten Symphony and US-headquartered Mavenir, advocates of more open and software-based technologies. But the project has so far had no shortage of problems.
