Xboxeja on suhteessa PS4 eniten USAssa, joka on Controlin päämarkkina, joten kerroin korkeampi kuin 0.4 on ihan perusteltu. Tuo EGS:n 85M käyttäjää taitaa sisältää käyttäjät, jotka eivät ole koskaan ostaneet mitään? Näitä on oletettavasti EGS:ssä paljon Fortniten takia, joten kerroin 0.85 olisi todella korkea.

Tämän artikkelin mukaan Epic olisi ollut parempi alusta Metro Exodukselle kuin Steam:

For example, Metro Exodus sold more than 2.5 times as many copies in its first few weeks on the Epic Games Store in comparison to the previous franchise release Metro: Last Light on Steam over the same period of time.
Täytyy tosin ottaa huomioon, että tämä edellinen peli on tullut ulos 2013, jolloin Steamilla oli 6-7 milj. saman aikaista käyttäjää (vrt. 18.5 milj 2018). Eli vain kolmasosa Steamin tämän päivän käyttäjämääristä. Olettaisin siis, että uusi Metro Exodus olisi myynyt jokseenkin saman verran Steamillä kuin Epicillä, mutta saanut vain pienemmän osan myynnistä.
Miten nuo sinun lukusi muuttuisi, jos käytät noita käyttäjämääriä mitä nostin esille?
Tämän artikkelin mukaan Epic antaa myös ilmaisia pelejä (23 kpl tähän mennessä) ja seuraavana olisi ilmeisesti tiedossa myös Alan Wake. Kyllä Epicillä on muitakin täkyjä kuin vain Fortnite.
Lisätään vielä tähän, että mikäli (mitään varmaan tuosta artikkelista ei voi sanoa) Alan Wake on tulossa ilmaiseksi peliksi Epiciin, niin kyllä sillä pelaajia Steamin puolelta voidaan kyntää, kun Steamissa se on myynnissä n. £12 hintaan (minulle näkyy vain punnat) ja ilmainen peli varmaan sopii monelle. Tiedä sitten, että onko tämä ollut osana Remedyn Epic diiliä ja minkälainen vaikutus sillä on tulojen kannalta.
Alan Wake on ollut myös Steamissa ilmaisena ja löytynyt vaikka mistä pilkkahintaan. Tuskin tuolla montaa pelaajaa saadaan siirtymään, EGS on kuitenkin niin monen pelaajan vihaama alusta.

One week since release, the Remedy stock has dropped around 20%. A few days ago, we published a brief update about estimated games sales of Control. We want to clarify some important things about digital sales, Epic exclusives and game quality .
As we wrote we only have a few official indicators on game sales during the launch week. The only official sales chart that is published in the sales performance in the UK the first few days. On Friday September 4 we get a much better picture on both digital and physical sales from the entire EMEAA-regions (meaning Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa). The only major market that is excluded is North America, perhaps one of Remedy’s strongest markets. The chart will be published on the website gameindustry.biz.
We have been tracking the top sold games on Amazon.com for a few days and in the first two days, Control was number one. Most likely this was due to a USD 10 discount campaign from both Walmart and Amazon. They have done these types of campaigns on many new games for some time. There have been some discussions that Amazon was running out of stock pretty early, which could have dampened initial sales of the game.
We have also noticed that the user scores are yet again much higher on metacritic, around 70 instead of 48. Likely spam has been erased for example disappointed gamers that complain about the game is Epic Games exclusive. Remedy has also communicated that an update will be released in a few days solving the most crucial performance issues. As shown in the stock price there is much uncertainty at the time being. We believe it is important to remember three things. The game is Epic Games exclusive on PC, meaning a majority of development costs is likely already secured. The game is also half financed by the publisher, 505 Games.
We have no idea how well the game has performed in the digital marketplace. We do know the game has been very visible on both Playstation store and Epic Games Store. We estimate the majority of game sales will be digital.
Control is another high-quality game from Remedy. I have (Tomas Otterbeck) played the game for maybe six hours. I have played most AAA third-person action adventures and is confident the quality of the game meets the high standards. I think like many other gamers the atmosphere and the gameplay are excellent. But I am most impressed by the destruction game physics’ in the game, meaning you can destroy every object. This is a somewhat unique element that is possible thanks to the self-developed Northlight engine, one of the major assets in Remedy we believe.
The conclusion is that the game Control could have had a slow start, we do not know yet. We lowered our sales estimates due to a conservative approach. The high quality of the game will, however, most likely mean Control will be a commercial success in the end.
Edit: kysymys: Jos EGS-diili on todennäköisesti luokkaa 1,5-2,0 m€, ja pelin kustannukset Remedylle päin ovat 12,25m€… niin karkeasti 10 milj pitäisi saada pelimyynnillä ja/tai muilla diileillä kuten Nvidia?
Kuitenkin tuossa ruotsalaiset puhuvat, että “majority of development costs is likely already secured”?

Tuo ei kyllä ole totta. Päivityksen päivämäärästä ei ole tietoa, eikä siitä mitä ongelmia Remedy saa patchilla korjattua. (Ellei ole tullut jotain uutta viestintää?)

Tuskin sillä on ollut vaikutusta, mutta tein käyttäjätilin ja kävin ilmiantamassa tyypin, joka oli tykittänyt nollia Controllille ja muille peleille. Saattaa olla, etten ole ainoa (tai jokin arvovaltainen taho on älähtänyt), koska nyt hänen arvostelunsa ovat nähdäkseni kadonneet sieltä.

Samaa mietin… Remedyllä on kyllä liian suuri osuus omassa salkussa, mutta viimeaikojen alennusmyynti houkuttelee todella vahvasti, jos alle 9€ menee niin varmasti laitan lappuja omaan taskuun.

En tiedä mistä ovat keksineet mutta gamespot väittää että päivitys tulisi “alustavasti syyskuun keski- tai loppuvaiheilla”
