Reuss said the Badger will have a different powertrain from the one GM will use in its new Hummer pickup, which will run on the Ultium battery-pack system the Detroit automaker co-developed with LG Chem Ltd.
“We won’t sell and market that truck. That is what Nikola is doing,” Reuss said. “It’s still a fuel-cell electric truck but quite different from what we are offering on our Ultium packs on the pure electric Hummer.”

Trucking company U.S. Xpress Enterprises Inc. USX -5.08% has made reservations with Nikola and other companies to place orders for hydrogen-fuel trucks when production starts later this decade.
“It makes sense to get out early,” Chief Executive Eric Fuller said. “We do think when this product gets rolled out there it will truly be a competitive advantage.”

Looginen shiftaus, koska edelleenkään teknologia ei kovin hyvin sovellu henkilöautoihin - oikeastaan akkuvehkeet ovat jo käytännössä voittaneet tuon kisan. Rekoissa, busseissa ja ehkä jollain aikavälillä laivoissa teknologialla on vielä ihan realistisia mahkuja. Pitäisi vain saada ns. valmista massatuotantoon eikä vain loputtomia lupailuja ja protoja.

GM TO MAKE NIKOLA BADGER IN 2026
Even though GM and Nikola have not signed a final agreement, it sure looks like their partnership is going to go ahead. AutoForecast Solutions reports that GM will start making the Nikola Badger pickup truck, but not until 2026. That truck will be made at GM’s Plant Zero, the new name for its Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit. That plant will also start making an electric Chevrolet pickup truck in 2022. It will be available in both long and short wheelbase versions.

Tämähän olisi vain kaunisteltu versio siitä, ettei GM:ää kiinnosta Badger IMO. Niillä on omat valmiit vanhat autobrändit, miksi keksiä uutta? Rekat voi toki olla eri asia. Ennakkovaraajille joka tapauksessa palautuu rahat tässä kohtaa, jos näin oikeasti olisi tilanne.
Milloinkohan ilmoitetaan, että Nikola Event 3.12.2020 perutaan?

2026 aikataulu Badgerille on sama kuin sitä ei olisi olemassa ja väitänpä jo nyt ettei Badgeria koskaan nähdä vaan se peruutetaan kaikessa hiljaisuudessa.
