Edit: eikä se pk-seutu ole mitenkään Huaweille kiveen hakattua. Esim. Elisalla on Nokian Airscale -sisälähettimet Triplassa, ja veikkaisin että myös muualla. Telialla myös vähemmän yllättäen Nokiaa samassa paikassa.

Vodafone jatkaa Huawei-lobbaustaan. Oman strategisen virheen paikkailu on hankalaa tässä maailmantilanteessa. Epäilen, että Vodafonen tilinpäätöksellä tuskin on iso vaikutus Brittien turvallisuuspolitiikassa. Ja onhan tässä jo esimerkkejä yllin kyllin siitä, että kyllä ne 5G-teknologian valmistajavaihdotkin sujuvat varsin ripeästi, jos niihin päädytään. Eikä mistään jäädä jälkeen, vaikka turvallisuus siirtyykin aivan uudelle tasolle. 
Tähän saattaa sopia sanonta “play stupid games, win stupid prizes”

New Nokia research reveals biggest 5G drivers for enterprise IT and OT

Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced new research highlighting 5G plans, expectations and the biggest 5G WAN and LAN drivers for businesses across key industries in the US and UK. The study, which was conducted in partnership with Parks Associates and surveyed over 1,000 IT decision-makers, covered key enterprise segments including energy, manufacturing, government/public safety, and automotive/transportation.
Kappas. Otaksuisin että tällä on vaikutusta pidemmällä tähtäimellä myös muihin NATO-maihin. Saattaa operaattoreita Saksassa harmittaa.
Ericsson jatkaa sopimusjulkistuksia.
O2 on myös ollut Nokian iso kumppani UK:ssa ja niitä ainoita, joissa Huawei ei ole isossa roolissa. Melkein vuosi sitten BBC kertoi, että Huawein pitäminen silloisessa tarjouskilpailussa mukana auttoi hintojen laskemisessa. Silloin Huaweille ei irronnut siivua.
Tarkoittaako tämä nyt Nokian osuuden pienenemistä? Sitä ei tiedä, mutta Nokia ei toistaiseksi ole ilmoittanut uusista sopimuksista O2:n kanssa.
Itse oon siinä oletuksessa että Nokian rooli tuossa säilyisi suurena, ja kenties ei tarvitta uusille sopimusjulkistuksille Nokian ja O2 osalta.
Britanniassa on ollut havaittavissa että Ericssonin on vienyt niitä osuuksia jotka ovat Huawein osalta ”jääneet yli”. Tämä kierros voisi pian saada vielä uutta vauhtia ja jospa jotain uutta sitten kuuluisi myös Nokiaan liittyen.

Nokian ReefShark2-tuotteiden ylösajo on edelleen vaiheessa, 35 prosenttia (jostakin) tänä vuonna. Tämä varmaan rajoittaa Nokian onnistumisia tarjoiskilpailuissa. Vain osalle voi tarjota uusinta uutta.

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited deploys Nokia software products to enhance customer experience and service

Islamabad, Pakistan – Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has deployed Nokia automation, analytics and machine learning software to enhance the customer experience and improve customer service accuracy and efficiency.
Among the products rolled out are Nokia Service Management Platform (SMP), which automates and simplifies the entire customer care process, and significantly reduces the time to resolve customer issues while improving accuracy.
Nokia SMP was deployed across all PTCL Contact Centers in Pakistan. With this, customer service representatives are more efficient with all relevant information including guided resolution steps – now available on a single pane of glass.
PTCL customers can now enjoy a better overall experience as Nokia SMP constantly improves trouble prediction and resolution capability, while reducing customer service costs. The software is based on Nokia Bell Labs machine learning algorithms.
Moreover, PTCL customers can now have an improved quality of experience across internet connectivity, IPTV and communications services by using Nokia’s software solution.
PTCL and Nokia’s collaboration includes the already deployed Nokia Network Analyzer – Copper, as well as Nokia Network Analyzer – Fiber, to gather insights that provide remote diagnosis and troubleshooting of last mile issues, further enhancing service quality and reducing customer service time and operational expense.

Josep Borell, eli Euroopan Komission varapresidentti on nostanut asian esille. Kyseinen herra on ollut EU:n ulkoasioiden ja turvallisuuspolitiikan edustaja marraskuusta 2019 lähtien.

Jo otsikon perusteella luvassa on melkoista tuubaa ja kun kirjoittajaksi paljastui Iain Morris taidan säästää suuren osan tästä herkusta huomiselle.
Mikä ihmeen takeover ja mitä ihmettä Facebookilla tai sen Whatsapp ja Instagram -kaupoilla on tekemistä tämän kanssa? Yritetäänkö tässä nyt luoda jotain kuvaa Nokiasta ja Erkusta pahiksina tai ainakin lumisen Pohjolan veijareina, joilla on aina ketunhäntä kainalossa - kun kerrankin Huawei selviää puhtain paperein? (Huaweita ei siis avoimuus kiinnosta lainkaan)

Mark Atkinsonin (Nokia) mukaan joissakin asiakkuuksissa korona-aika on tuonut hidastuksia, mutta kokonaisuutena vaikutukset ovat olleet pieniä. Kaikki haluavat ottaa kaiken hyödyn irti kun aika paraneee. Softapuolella asiat etenevät aivan kuten aikana ennen koronaa.
Kanadassa 5G käyttöönotossa hieman viivästystä Ric Heraldin (Nokia) mukaan, sillä “mid-band” taajuusaluetta halutaan täyttää, ja siinä huutokauppa viivästyi vuoteen 2021. Nokia ei kuitenkaan ollut odottanut Kanadan merkittävää 5G kasvua vielä tälle 2020 vuodelle.

“There have been some customers that have slightly pushed back their plans, but by and large it’s not a big impact,” said Mark Atkinson, SVP of 5G and small cells at Nokia. “Everybody’s looking to use this time to come out strong at the end.
As a result, there’s been no slow down in the amount of code produced and test cases executed every month by Nokia’s engineers, he added.
“Everyone’s been very cautious to make sure that they have enough capital reserve,” Herald said. “That conservativeness on the capital obviously affects what we had anticipated and even what they had anticipated spending. So, I wouldn’t say it’s been significant because our forecasting for 5G was relatively low in this year and assuming that the 3.5 [GHz spectrum] comes out over the year or early next year, much of the planning will be done, a lot of the testing will have been done, so they can make it up and start rolling out next year.”
