KINDRED: THE ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHT REDUCES FINE TO SEK 50 MLN (100)]
STOCKHOLM (Nyhetsbyrån Direkt) The Administrative Court changes the Gambling Inspectorate’s decision and reduces the sanction fee of SEK 100 million, which was awarded to Kindred in March 2020, to SEK 50 million. This is stated in a press release from the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate. The Swedish Gaming Inspectorate has assessed that Spooniker, which is the Kindred company holding the Swedish license, has provided several campaigns that constituted unauthorized bonuses. Several of them have also been lotteries that are not covered by Spooniker’s license. The Administrative Court shares Spelinspektionen’s assessment regarding the campaigns in addition to the campaign “Refer a friend”, which is not considered to constitute a bonus offer according to the Gaming Act. Overall, the Administrative Court finds that Spooniker has committed a relatively large number of serious violations. The court therefore believes that the Swedish Gaming Inspectorate has had reason to issue a warning with a penalty fee to Spooniker.
