The Swedish Electrical Safety Authority has now made a decision in a case that is part of a project where charging boxes for electric cars have been examined. A total of six of the most common models on the market have been reviewed, which has led to a decision to ban sales.
The charging box that has been banned from sale is Easee Home, but the model Easee Charge is covered by the same documentation, which means that this model is also banned from sale. There are approximately 100,000 installed charging boxes of these models in Sweden.
What does the ban mean?
The manufacturer must take back the charging boxes that have received a sales ban from their dealers. The decision also means that the manufacturer is obliged to remedy deficiencies in already installed charging boxes. What type of action will be taken is up to the manufacturer to communicate and enforce.

ABG Sundal Collier raises its price target on Zaptec to NOK 50 from NOK 45, and reiterates its buy recommendation on the share, according to an update on Thursday afternoon.
The brokerage is expecting a record quarter based on higher turnover and a record order intake. The sales estimate for the first quarter is adjusted upwards by 21 per cent to NOK 309 million, while order intake is expected to be close to NOK 500 million.
“We now expect turnover for 2023 of NOK 1.6 billion, up 111 percent. However, in a scenario where current demand continues, and the main competitor continues to struggle, Zaptec can probably lift sales towards NOK 2.2 billion. Sales over 2.2 billion can be challenging given current production capacity. Assuming sales of NOK 2.2 billion, a gross margin of 40 percent and costs of around NOK 500 million will result in an operating profit of NOK 350 million, 120 percent above our current estimate for operating profit in 2023,” the brokerage house writes.
In addition to the first quarter figures, investors are awaiting MID certification approval for Germany, which could be released in a few days.
“We say buy ahead of a strong first quarter, record order intake and German charger approval,” writes the brokerage house.

Menee taas arvottomaksi hypettämiseksi, mutta näin parin oluen jälkeen tuli tyytyväinen olo siitä, että on laittanut jonkin verran kiinni Zapteciin. Odotan mielenkiinnolla tämän vuoden kehitystä. Tuotteita tuotu uusille markkinoille ja sertifikaatteja saatu. Isona lisänä vielä suurimman kilpailijan epäonni, joka sataa Zaptecin laariin (toki muidenkin).

Easee rival has doubled production
While Easee struggles, it goes straight to heaven for arch-rival Zaptec: People have to be on the move almost around the clock to meet demand.

We meet the Dane in Westcontrol’s factory premises at Tau outside Stavanger. This is where the charging boxes are produced. It is screwed and it is mounted. Half-finished charging boxes lie in rows.
At Westcontrol, employees work three shifts a day to get enough charging boxes ready. Today, 140 people work exclusively on making Zaptec charging boxes.
- We are a listed company, so I cannot mention any figures, but I can at least say that this year we have doubled our production, says Bardenfleth-Hansen.
Further south, at arch-rival Easee on Forus, the story is different. They have been banned from selling in Sweden. And now the Netherlands is considering the same.

The patent is issued by the European Patent Office and is valid in all European countries. The patent has also been approved in China and Japan.

Zaptec tänään roimassa laskussa ennen Q1 osaria. Nyt -5,4%. Huomenna 10.5.2023 pitäs tulla todella hyvä tulos analyytikoiden mukaan. Vai onko jotain jo vuotanut markkinoille…?

Mikä tärkeintä tulos tosiaan pitäisi olla hyvä!!
Uskoisin, että moni varmistelee jos tuleekin negatiivinen reaktio kaikesta huolimatta.
Itse ainakin säästin pelimerkkejä huomiseen, koska ajat on sellaiset, että voi olla reiluakin halpuutusta luvassa.
